Fund, withdraw and control your wallet

Put ETH in the right Orbit wallet, move it deliberately and understand what key export changes.

TL;DR

  • Identify the active wallet and use Base Chain before moving ETH.
  • Card on-ramp, card off-ramp, send and withdraw are available on Day 0.
  • Exporting a key gives direct control and direct responsibility.

Day 0 wallet actions are irreversible

Send, withdraw, card on-ramp, card off-ramp and Orbit-managed key export are available on Day 0. Check the wallet, Base Chain network, asset, destination and provider terms before confirming an action.

Your Orbit experience can involve an active trading wallet, an Orbit-managed wallet and an external wallet you connect yourself. The label and full address matter more than where you remember seeing them.

1. Identify the wallet in use

Separate the wallet roles

Open the wallet view and compare the full address with the account context. Your wallet is the active personal wallet for funds and trading. The reserved Platform Wallet is not a deposit destination. An external wallet remains controlled through its own provider and key.

Choose the address from the action

Copy the address from the deposit or wallet control you intend to use. Example: do not copy the Platform Wallet from Security because it happens to appear near your linked wallets.

2. Add ETH on Base Chain

Choose the card route you need

Use the card on-ramp to buy ETH or the card off-ramp to cash out through the provider shown. Review its payment method, limits, fees and destination before leaving Orbit.

Receive ETH on Base Chain

Choose Deposit, copy Your wallet and send ETH on Base Chain. Example: start with a small Base Chain transfer and verify arrival before sending a larger amount.

3. Prepare a withdrawal

Prepare the destination

Choose Send/Withdraw, paste the destination, then compare the beginning and end of the address with the receiving wallet. Use a small test transfer before a larger withdrawal when the route is new.

Reserve ETH for gas

Choose the amount while leaving enough ETH for the network cost shown. Example: Max may need to reserve gas rather than sending the displayed balance to zero.

4. Send and verify

Read the final request

Check Base Chain, the full destination, amount and gas. Choose Confirm only when they agree. A familiar contact name is not a substitute for the address in the transaction.

Verify before repeating

Wait for confirmation and use the transaction hash when the wallet and interface appear out of sync. Example: a pending screen is a reason to check the first transfer, not submit the same withdrawal again.

5. Export the key only when needed

Reveal and save the key deliberately

Key export is available on Day 0 and moves the security boundary. Choose it only when you need direct control, complete the re-verification and save the revealed private key offline. Example: never paste it into a website to “verify” wallet ownership.

Confirm the custody change

After you confirm the key is saved, Orbit deletes its copy and can no longer sign or recover that wallet for you. Decide whether your backup process is ready before completing this irreversible step.

A private key controls the wallet

Anyone with the exported key can move the wallet’s assets. Orbit cannot reverse a transfer or make a copied key private again.

Common questions

Can I send or withdraw funds on Day 0?
Yes. The controls are available at launch. Verify Your wallet, Base Chain, the destination, amount and gas before confirming.
Can I use a card on Day 0?
Yes. Card on-ramp and off-ramp are available at launch. Review the provider, payment method, limits and fees shown in the flow.
What changes after key export?
Orbit deletes its copy of the key. Import it into a self-custody wallet, connect through the available external-wallet route and keep your own recoverable backup.
What should I save before moving a larger amount?
Keep the small transfer’s transaction hash, source and destination addresses, network and confirmed result. They give you a reliable comparison for the larger move.
Why doesn't ETH on another network appear?
Base Chain and other networks are separate chains. A transfer on the wrong network does not bounce back, and Orbit Support cannot reverse it.
