Know the risks before you trade
Decide what would make you walk away before committing money to a new coin.
TL;DR
- You can lose all the ETH you trade; graduation, liquidity and an exit are never guaranteed.
- Creator material, verified links and visible community activity do not make a project’s claims true.
- Confirmed on-chain actions are normally irreversible, so set your boundary before opening a future trade.
Trading is currently paused
Buying and selling are paused across Orbit Moon for the first four days so creators can prepare their projects and communities. On Day 4, the platform-wide pause ends; each creator chooses when their coin opens. Use this time to define your risk boundary.
New coins can move quickly. Decide your boundary first so a chart, busy Coin Pod or broadcast does not make the decision for you.
Keep six risks separate
Market and liquidity
Price can rise or fall sharply, and your own order can move it when participation is thin. A bonding coin may never reach graduation; a graduated pool may still be shallow; a sunset coin does not accept ordinary trades. Portfolio value is not a guaranteed exit value.
Creator and concentration
Creators can change metadata, lose interest, change direction or fail to deliver an off-chain promise. Verified links prove control of a destination, not the truth of its claims. Concentrated ownership can let a small number of wallets change conditions for everyone else.
Contract, platform and wallet
Smart contracts, service infrastructure, pricing data and wallet integrations can contain faults or become unavailable. Contract protections narrow specific attack paths but do not make a trade safe. A stolen key, malicious signature or wrong address can move assets permanently.
Set a boundary before attention becomes urgency
Decide the maximum amount you can lose without changing your life and treat it as a ceiling, not a target. Do not borrow to trade a new coin, rely on a promised payout date or increase the amount because social activity makes the moment feel urgent.
Read the coin address, lifecycle, holder distribution and future quote independently. Community context can reveal questions and people; it cannot prove safety or suitable risk.
Before you trade
Orbit does not recommend a coin, guarantee graduation, promise liquidity or make a creator’s claims true. If you cannot explain the downside and exit conditions, do not trade.
Common questions
Do Orbit's contract protections cap my possible loss?
No. Understand Orbit’s contract protections explains the exact paths they narrow and the risks they leave with you.
Does an active community reduce creator risk?
Not by itself. It adds public context and may surface questions, but it cannot guarantee future work, truthful claims, demand or liquidity.
How can I prepare without placing a trade today?
Write down your loss and exit boundaries, inspect a coin in layers and learn the review sequence in Make your first trade. Trading remains paused.
