Follow the supply, curve, graduation and wind-down path behind every Orbit coin.

Every Orbit coin follows one lifecycle. Its stage determines where a trade runs, what can change and which irreversible final states are possible.

From draft to live curve

Draft and deployment

A draft exists in Orbit but not on Base Chain. Deployment creates the contracts and mints the whole one-billion-token supply into the launch system. The creator receives the owner NFT, not a free token allocation.

Coming soon and bonding

The creator then opens the market when that control is available. The coin moves from Coming soon to Bonding, and buys and sells run against its vault rather than another trader. More tokens out of the vault means a higher curve price; sells return tokens and move the position back.

The creator chose a 10, 25 or 50 ETH graduation target at draft creation. Every engine sells the same 800 million curve tokens and rises 4× from its own opening to graduation price. The target changes the overall price range and ETH required, not the multiple.

What this means: Every engine travels the same 4x bonding corridor. Half the curve ETH and the reserved tokens seed the pool at the price where the curve ended.

The matched handoff removes a built-in price step. It does not control the pool after graduation or prevent every form of automated trading. Read how the curve fits into Orbit’s wider attack-path protections.

What graduation does

When all 800 million curve tokens are out, the curve latches as ready and stops accepting trades. A graduation transaction then:

  1. Creates the coin’s Uniswap V4 pool.
  2. Pairs the reserved 200 million tokens with half the ETH collected on the curve.
  3. Mints a full-range LP NFT and transfers it to the standard burn address. There is no known private key and no protocol recovery path, making the position effectively irrecoverable.
  4. Sends a quarter of the collected ETH to creator earnings and a quarter to the protocol.
  5. Marks the coin Graduated.

Afterwards the current fee is 1%, and price is set by the open pool rather than the launch formula. The coin cannot return to the curve or be sunset.

What happens when a coin is abandoned

A deployed or bonding coin that has not graduated can enter Sunset after 90 days without activity. Sunset closes ordinary trading and freezes the configuration. Eligible holder redemption or rewards paths may remain, subject to current product controls.

Good to know

Ready to graduate and graduated are different states. During the transaction gap, the curve is closed but the new pool may not exist yet. Do not assume a visible 100% progress bar means trading is already available on the pool.

Common questions

Does choosing 50 ETH create more tokens than choosing 10 ETH?

No. Every tier uses the one-billion-token supply, with 800 million on the curve and 200 million reserved for graduation liquidity. Choose how your launch grows explains what the target changes.

Can a graduated coin return to the bonding curve?

No. Graduation is a final lifecycle transition. The curve stays closed and the coin uses its Uniswap V4 pool; a graduated coin also cannot enter Sunset.

What if progress reaches 100% but pool trading is not ready?

Treat ready to graduate and graduated as separate states. Wait for the graduation transaction and pool state rather than repeating a curve trade or assuming the handoff has completed.
